Sheikh Zayed Mosque: A Must see Tourist Attraction

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque

Abu Dhabi mosque

The stunning, world renowned Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one of the world’s largest, known for their open door policy, welcoming visitors across the world to provide a place rich in cultural diversity. This incredible landmark was built by architects from across the world including the UAE, Britain and Italy – bringing together designs from a multitude of countries.

The mosque provides a place for all individuals, families and friends to learn about the Islamic culture and religion, in a space that encourages open dialogue, welcoming up to 55,000 worshippers and visitors every day. Completed in just over a decade, the Mosque was built to embody Islam’s foremost message of peace, welcoming people of all beliefs.

A breathtaking build..

The Mosque was built between 1994 and 2007, with over 3,000 workers and 38 contractor companies used across its construction. Many natural materials were selected for the bulk of the design, including gold, crystals and ceramics. Marble plays the largest role though, from the 82 white marble domes to the stone floors and walls. The 1,096 amethyst and jasper embedded columns, reflective pools, gold-plated artworks and iconic courtyard are all photo worthy opportunities, in addition to one of the largest marble mosaic artworks in the world. Of course it wouldn’t be a UAE build without holding a Guinness World Record – can expect to find the largest hand-woven carpet here also.

Visiting the Mosque..

The Mosque is open 9am-10pm everyday apart from Friday, closing midday to 3pm. Women are advised to wear long sleeved, loose fitting clothing, while men should avoid wearing shorts. Shoes will be removed prior to entering the place of worship. Entry is free for everyone, in addition to free guided tours for those who would like to be educated about the Mosque, lasting around 1 hour.

Dubai’s Nammos hosts an innovative Dior Concept Store

Dior nammos

On Dubai’s Jumeirah beach at the Four Seasons Hotel, Nammos plays host to Dior, with a stunning and innovative boutique, open to the public. The installation is made up of two circular modules, made solely from natural materials – combining clay, sand and raw fibres, using an innovative 3D printing system by WASP, to create the structures. The incredible engineering of the build is not only technically impressive, it’s also super creative, with the cannage motif creating a pattern repeat across the surface of the walls (a serious coding accomplishment).

Hugo Boss: The Rebrand

Bailey-bieber-future-hugoboss

A new era for Hugo Boss

Hugo Boss has officially made its comeback, stepping into a new era of contemporary style, with modernised thinking. The brands relatively new CEO, Daniel Grieder, says over the last six years, the Brand has “lost its relevance in the fashion industry”, and in order for it to be successful, “we need to reframe it”.

Introducing Hugo and Boss

In order to target the two most influential demographics, Boss will be aimed at the millennials, placing emphasis on motivational advertising and bold designs. Meanwhile, the slightly more affordable ‘Hugo’ will ‘tailor’ to the younger crowd of Gen Z’s, with a new slogan ‘Go your own way’, to reflect the fluidity and self expression of the younger generation. The focus for both collections, although targeting different audiences, will be modernising fabrics. With a focus placed everyday tailored fits, and water resistant/wrinkle resistant fabrics, so you can “sleep in that suit and get up and it still looks like you just put it on” according to Grieder.

Be Your Own Boss Campaign, HUGO BOSS

Modernised Marketing

Starting off with a bang, the #BeYourOwnBoss campaign launched yesterday, featuring the most current (25 and over) stars; Anthony Joshua, Future, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber in the new Boss collection, designed with a core colour palette of browns, black and nudes. The striking campaign video, featuring The Weeknd’s ‘Pray for Me’, screams brand awareness, with a clear authentic and brand identity. With a new focus of social media channels (Instagram for Boss, Tiktok for Hugo), we can expect the remodelled brand to soon be a talking point amongst the younger crowd.

Summit One: NYC’s Most Exciting Installation

Air summit one

Sky High sights..

Summit one

One of New York’s newest city viewing platforms has opened, but it’s fair to say it offers a little more than sky high sights. The Summit One Vanderbilt, is the tallest commercial building in midtown Manhattan, and with its iconic shape setting a new standard for architecture in New York.

Summit One Vanderbilt was conceived as an installation that compels you to question your perception of the built environment, the natural world, and your sensorial reality – through four different experiences.

‘Air’ by Kenzo Digital

Air summit one
Transcendence
Afinity
Afinity

Kenzo Digital, specialising in mind-bending and emotion evoking physical spaces, created the ‘Air’ experience. The first space, ‘Transcendence’ is an art installation with floor to ceiling mirrors, creating a fully immersive effect, and warped reality (often used as THE instagram shot). The ‘Afinity’ installation, is similar, with the addition of large chrome balloons, floating throughout – because why not! Both rooms begin to reflect the sun as it sets over the city, producing dramatic rays of colour.

Levitating & Ascent

Summit one
Levitate
Ascent lift

Levitating offers two overhung viewing platforms for guests to step onto.. with nothing but a glass floor below their feet. ‘Levitate’ above New York City, if you dare! For the most daring of guests, ‘Ascent’ provides the real thrill-factor, and a one-of-a-kind perspective of the city from One Vanderbilt’s highest elevation. Summit’s ‘Ascent’ is the highest rack-and-pinion lift system in the world, and at 90 square feet each, the largest lit floor elevators in the world. The two lifts are positioned on the outside of the building, taking you up to the highest point to admire the breathtaking view of the city.

Apres

Summit one

The latest concept from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events combines global flavours for a culinary experience exclusive to Summit. Stunning views of New York are ready to greet you from the open air terrace and indoor lounge, perched in the skies above Manhattan.
